There is no single industry for sales and marketing as it is applicable to all industries. This allows marketing graduates to work in a myriad of different industries and can lead to careers in a diverse set of markets.

Some of the job types in sales & marketing you can expect

  • Marketing manager
    Marketing managers promote an organisations products, services and image. They have the responsibility of developing marketing strategies through consumer research of demographics, sales and spending habits.

  • Sales representative
    Sales representatives are responsible for selling a business’s services and products.

  • Business development manager
    The business development manager is responsible for building a company’s business. This usually entails assessing marketing opportunities, gathering customer and client intelligence, generating leads and writing formal business proposals.

  • Market researcher
    Market researchers gather, record and analyse data about clients, competitors and the market. They help a business make business decisions about its products and services. They help to see if they might be able to target existing or potential customers better. A market researcher may perform research in a number of different ways including; writing surveys, creating focus groups, and analysing public and company data.
